The Cliffs at the Lizard

I am chuffed (choughed I should say!) to have a tune in the Cornish National Music Archive and also to be published in the latest Cornish tune book Fooch 2, compiled by Neil Davey. The Cliffs at the Lizard is a modern tune in the Cornish folk tradition, inspired by community music group Bagas Crowd’s 10th anniversary celebrations held on the Lizard peninsula. We played to the choughs, also marking the 10th anniversary of their return to Cornwall.

The tune is very appropriately played here by Bagas Crowd in session at their 20th birthday celebration in 2021. There’s also a Salt & Sky recording where it’s played in The Sandwich Set with Emma’s tune Granny’s Kitchen, another popular modern tune in the Cornish tradition.
