New name & logo for Under The Sun – Upcycling

I am delighted to share with you the new name and new logo for what the project formerly known as Leftfield Folkwear, now to be called Under The Sun – Upcycling (on instagram @underthesun_upcycling).

They say there’s nothing new under the sun, and secondhand textiles are my main source of materials and inspiration for what I make. We all live under one sun and share responsibility to care for each other and for the planet – fast fashion isn’t helping, but re-using unwanted garments and encouraging people to be thoughtful in their choices can make a difference.

Flowers open under the sun’s warmth and my hope is that the things I make will bring joy to the wearer and encourage them to express their individuality, knowing that they are loved and accepted for who they are.

I am reminded this morning that it was the beautiful light of summer sunshine on long grass that inspired me to start making things again. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
